Minha respiração e inspiração, o bater do meu coração, a passagem.

A luz clara toca no cinza marrom e verde intertidos,
Eu coloquei minhas sandálias nas minhas botas e fui e me diverti;

Limbs glossy and supple, tail dusting the ground,
Eyes full of sparkling wickedness, ears finely cut, flexibly moving.
His well-built limbs tremble with pleasure as we race around and return.
Why do I need your paces when I myself out-gallop them?
Even as I stand or sit passing faster than you.
What I guess'd when I loaf'd on the grass,
What I guess'd while I lay alone in my bed,
And again as I walk'd the beach under the paling stars of the morning.
I skirt sierras, my palms cover continents,
I am afoot with my vision.
Along the ruts of the turnpike, along the dry gulch and rivulet bed,
Weeding my onion-patch or hosing rows of carrots and parsnips,
crossing savannas, trailing in forests,
Prospecting, gold-digging, girdling the trees of a new purchase,
Scorch'd ankle-deep by the hot sand, hauling my boat down the.
Where the panther walks to and fro on a limb overhead, where the.
buck turns furiously at the hunter,
Where the rattlesnake suns his flabby length on a rock, where the.
otter is feeding on fish,
Where the alligator in his tough pimples sleeps by the bayou,
Where the black bear is searching for roots or honey, where the.
beaver pats the mud with his paddle-shaped tall;
Over the growing sugar, over the yellow-flower'd cotton plant, over.
the rice in its low moist field,
Over the sharp-peak'd farm house, with its scallop'd scum and.
slender shoots from the gutters,
Over the western persimmon, over the long-leav'd corn, over the.
delicate blue-flower flax,
Over the white and brown buckwheat, a hummer and buzzer there with.
Over the dusky green of the rye as it ripples and shades in the breeze;
Scaling mountains, pulling myself cautiously up, holding on by low.
Walking the path worn in the grass and beat through the leaves of the brush,
Where the quail is whistling betwixt the woods and the wheat-lot,
Where the bat flies in the Seventh-month eve, where the great.
goldbug drops through the dark,
Where the brook puts out of the roots of the old tree and flows to.
Where cattle stand and shake away flies with the tremulous.
shuddering of their hides,
Where the cheese-cloth hangs in the kitchen, where andirons straddle.
the hearth-slab, where cobwebs fall in festoons from the rafters;
Where trip-hammers crash, where the press is whirling its cylinders,
Wherever the human heart beats with terrible throes under its ribs,
Where the pear-shaped balloon is floating aloft, (floating in it.
myself and looking composedly down,)
Where the life-car is drawn on the slip-noose, where the heat.
hatches pale-green eggs in the dented sand,
Where the she-whale swims with her calf and never forsakes it,
Where the steam-ship trails hind-ways its long pennant of smoke,
Where the fin of the shark cuts like a black chip out of the water,
Where the half-burn'd brig is riding on unknown currents,
Where shells grow to her slimy deck, where the dead are corrupting below;
Where the dense-starr'd flag is borne at the head of the regiments,
Approaching Manhattan up by the long-stretching island,
Under Niagara, the cataract falling like a veil over my countenance,
Upon a door-step, upon the horse-block of hard wood outside,
Upon the race-course, or enjoying picnics or jigs or a good game of.
At he-festivals, with blackguard gibes, ironical license,
bull-dances, drinking, laughter,
At the cider-mill tasting the sweets of the brown mash, sucking the.
juice through a straw,
At apple-peelings wanting kisses for all the red fruit I find,
At musters, beach-parties, friendly bees, huskings, house-raisings;
Where the mocking-bird sounds his delicious gurgles, cackles,
Where the hay-rick stands in the barn-yard, where the dry-stalks are.
scatter'd, where the brood-cow waits in the hovel,
Where the bull advances to do his masculine work, where the stud to.
the mare, where the cock is treading the hen,
Where the heifers browse, where geese nip their food with short jerks,
Where sun-down shadows lengthen over the limitless and lonesome prairie,
Where herds of buffalo make a crawling spread of the square miles.
Where the humming-bird shimmers, where the neck of the long-lived.
swan is curving and winding,
Where the laughing-gull scoots by the shore, where she laughs her.
Where bee-hives range on a gray bench in the garden half hid by the.
Where band-neck'd partridges roost in a ring on the ground with.
their heads out,
Where burial coaches enter the arch'd gates of a cemetery,
Where winter wolves bark amid wastes of snow and icicled trees,
Where the yellow-crown'd heron comes to the edge of the marsh at.
night and feeds upon small crabs,
Where the splash of swimmers and divers cools the warm noon,
Where the katy-did works her chromatic reed on the walnut-tree over.
Through patches of citrons and cucumbers with silver-wired leaves,
Through the salt-lick or orange glade, or under conical firs,
Through the gymnasium, through the curtain'd saloon, through the.
office or public hall;
Pleas'd with the native and pleas'd with the foreign, pleas'd with.
the new and old,
Pleas'd with the homely woman as well as the handsome,
Pleas'd with the quakeress as she puts off her bonnet and talks melodiously,
Pleas'd with the tune of the choir of the whitewash'd church,
Pleas'd with the earnest words of the sweating Methodist preacher,
impress'd seriously at the camp-meeting;
Looking in at the shop-windows of Broadway the whole forenoon,
flatting the flesh of my nose on the thick plate glass,
Wandering the same afternoon with my face turn'd up to the clouds,
or down a lane or along the beach,
My right and left arms round the sides of two friends, and I in the middle;
Coming home with the silent and dark-cheek'd bush-boy, (behind me.
he rides at the drape of the day,)
Far from the settlements studying the print of animals' feet, or the.
By the cot in the hospital reaching lemonade to a feverish patient,
Nigh the coffin'd corpse when all is still, examining with a candle;
Voyaging to every port to dicker and adventure,
Hurrying with the modern crowd as eager and fickle as any,
Hot toward one I hate, ready in my madness to knife him,
Solitary at midnight in my back yard, my thoughts gone from me a long while,
Walking the old hills of Judaea with the beautiful gentle God by my side,
Speeding through space, speeding through heaven and the stars,
Speeding amid the seven satellites and the broad ring, and the.
diameter of eighty thousand miles,
Speeding with tail'd meteors, throwing fire-balls like the rest,
Carrying the crescent child that carries its own full mother in its belly,
Storming, enjoying, planning, loving, cautioning,
Backing and filling, appearing and disappearing,
I tread day and night such roads.
And look at quintillions ripen'd and look at quintillions green.
My course runs below the soundings of plummets.
No guard can shut me off, no law prevent me.
My messengers continually cruise away or bring their returns to me.
pike-pointed staff, clinging to topples of brittle and blue.
I take my place late at night in the crow's-nest,
We sail the arctic sea, it is plenty light enough,
Through the clear atmosphere I stretch around on the wonderful beauty,
The enormous masses of ice pass me and I pass them, the scenery is.
plain in all directions,
The white-topt mountains show in the distance, I fling out my.
fancies toward them,
We are approaching some great battle-field in which we are soon to.
We pass the colossal outposts of the encampment, we pass with still.
feet and caution,
Or we are entering by the suburbs some vast and ruin'd city,
The blocks and fallen architecture more than all the living cities.
I turn the bridgroom out of bed and stay with the bride myself,
I tighten her all night to my thighs and lips.
They fetch my man's body up dripping and drown'd.
The courage of present times and all times,
How the skipper saw the crowded and rudderless wreck of the.
steamship, and Death chasing it up and down the storm,
How he knuckled tight and gave not back an inch, and was faithful of.
days and faithful of nights,
And chalk'd in large letters on a board, Be of good cheer, we will.
How he follow'd with them and tack'd with them three days and.
would not give it up,
How he saved the drifting company at last,
How the lank loose-gown'd women look'd when boated from the.
side of their prepared graves,
How the silent old-faced infants and the lifted sick, and the.
sharp-lipp'd unshaved men;
All this I swallow, it tastes good, I like it well, it becomes mine,
I am the man, I suffer'd, I was there.
The mother of old, condemn'd for a witch, burnt with dry wood, her.
children gazing on,
The hounded slave that flags in the race, leans by the fence,
blowing, cover'd with sweat,
The twinges that sting like needles his legs and neck, the murderous.
buckshot and the bullets,
All these I feel or am.
Hell and despair are upon me, crack and again crack the marksmen,
I clutch the rails of the fence, my gore dribs, thinn'd with the.
ooze of my skin,
I fall on the weeds and stones,
The riders spur their unwilling horses, haul close,
Taunt my dizzy ears and beat me violently over the head with whip-stocks.
I do not ask the wounded person how he feels, I myself become the.
My hurts turn livid upon me as I lean on a cane and observe.
Tumbling walls buried me in their debris,
Heat and smoke I inspired, I heard the yelling shouts of my comrades,
I heard the distant click of their picks and shovels,
They have clear'd the beams away, they tenderly lift me forth.
Painless after all I lie exhausted but not so unhappy,
White and beautiful are the faces around me, the heads are bared.
of their fire-caps,
The kneeling crowd fades with the light of the torches.
They show as the dial or move as the hands of me, I am the clock myself.
I am there again.
Again the attacking cannon, mortars,
Again to my listening ears the cannon responsive.
The cries, curses, roar, the plaudits for well-aim'd shots,
The ambulanza slowly passing trailing its red drip,
Workmen searching after damages, making indispensable repairs,
The fall of grenades through the rent roof, the fan-shaped explosion,
The whizz of limbs, heads, stone, wood, iron, high in the air.
He gasps through the clot Mind not me--mind--the entrenchments.
(I tell not the fall of Alamo,
Not one escaped to tell the fall of Alamo,
The hundred and fifty are dumb yet at Alamo,)
'Tis the tale of the murder in cold blood of four hundred and twelve.
Nine hundred lives out of the surrounding enemies, nine times their.
number, was the price they took in advance,
Their colonel was wounded and their ammunition gone,
They treated for an honorable capitulation, receiv'd writing and.
seal, gave up their arms and march'd back prisoners of war.
Matchless with horse, rifle, song, supper, courtship,
Large, turbulent, generous, handsome, proud, and affectionate,
Bearded, sunburnt, drest in the free costume of hunters,
Not a single one over thirty years of age.
massacred, it was beautiful early summer,
The work commenced about five o'clock and was over by eight.
Some made a mad and helpless rush, some stood stark and straight,
A few fell at once, shot in the temple or heart, the living and dead.
The maim'd and mangled dug in the dirt, the new-comers saw them there,
Some half-kill'd attempted to crawl away,
These were despatch'd with bayonets or batter'd with the blunts of muskets,
A youth not seventeen years old seiz'd his assassin till two more.
came to release him,
The three were all torn and cover'd with the boy's blood.
That is the tale of the murder of the four hundred and twelve young men.
Would you learn who won by the light of the moon and stars?
List to the yarn, as my grandmother's father the sailor told it to me.
His was the surly English pluck, and there is no tougher or truer,
and never was, and never will be;
Along the lower'd eve he came horribly raking us.
My captain lash'd fast with his own hands.
On our lower-gun-deck two large pieces had burst at the first fire,
killing all around and blowing up overhead.
Ten o'clock at night, the full moon well up, our leaks on the gain,
and five feet of water reported,
The master-at-arms loosing the prisoners confined in the after-hold.
to give them a chance for themselves.
They see so many strange faces they do not know whom to trust.
The other asks if we demand quarter?
If our colors are struck and the fighting done?
We have not struck, he composedly cries, we have just begun our part.
of the fighting.
One is directed by the captain himself against the enemy's main-mast,
Two well serv'd with grape and canister silence his musketry and.
clear his decks.
They hold out bravely during the whole of the action.
The leaks gain fast on the pumps, the fire eats toward the powder-magazine.
He is not hurried, his voice is neither high nor low,
His eyes give more light to us than our battle-lanterns.
Two great hulls motionless on the breast of the darkness,
Our vessel riddled and slowly sinking, preparations to pass to the.
one we have conquer'd,
The captain on the quarter-deck coldly giving his orders through a.
countenance white as a sheet,
Near by the corpse of the child that serv'd in the cabin,
The dead face of an old salt with long white hair and carefully.
The flames spite of all that can be done flickering aloft and below,
The husky voices of the two or three officers yet fit for duty,
Formless stacks of bodies and bodies by themselves, dabs of flesh.
upon the masts and spars,
Cut of cordage, dangle of rigging, slight shock of the soothe of waves,
Black and impassive guns, litter of powder-parcels, strong scent,
A few large stars overhead, silent and mournful shining,
Delicate sniffs of sea-breeze, smells of sedgy grass and fields by.
the shore, death-messages given in charge to survivors,
The hiss of the surgeon's knife, the gnawing teeth of his saw,
Wheeze, cluck, swash of falling blood, short wild scream, and long,
dull, tapering groan,
These so, these irretrievable.
In at the conquer'd doors they crowd! I am possess'd!
Embody all presences outlaw'd or suffering,
See myself in prison shaped like another man,
And feel the dull unintermitted pain.
It is I let out in the morning and barr'd at night.
and walk by his side,
(I am less the jolly one there, and more the silent one with sweat.
on my twitching lips.)
My face is ash-color'd, my sinews gnarl, away from me people retreat.
I project my hat, sit shame-faced, and beg.
Somehow I have been stunn'd. Stand back!
Give me a little time beyond my cuff'd head, slumbers, dreams, gaping,
I discover myself on the verge of a usual mistake.
That I could forget the trickling tears and the blows of the.
bludgeons and hammers!
That I could look with a separate look on my own crucifixion and.
I resume the overstaid fraction,
The grave of rock multiplies what has been confided to it, or to any graves,
Corpses rise, gashes heal, fastenings roll from me.
Inland and sea-coast we go, and pass all boundary lines,
Our swift ordinances on their way over the whole earth,
The blossoms we wear in our hats the growth of thousands of years.
Continue your annotations, continue your questionings.
Is he waiting for civilization, or past it and mastering it?
Is he from the Mississippi country? Iowa, Oregon, California?
The mountains? prairie-life, bush-life? or sailor from the sea?
They desire he should like them, touch them, speak to them, stay with them.
head, laughter, and naivete,
Slow-stepping feet, common features, common modes and emanations,
They descend in new forms from the tips of his fingers,
They are wafted with the odor of his body or breath, they fly out of.
the glance of his eyes.
You light surfaces only, I force surfaces and depths also.
Say, old top-knot, what do you want?
And might tell what it is in me and what it is in you, but cannot,
And might tell that pining I have, that pulse of my nights and days.
When I give I give myself.
Open your scarf'd chops till I blow grit within you,
Spread your palms and lift the flaps of your pockets,
I am not to be denied, I compel, I have stores plenty and to spare,
And any thing I have I bestow.
You can do nothing and be nothing but what I will infold you.
On his right cheek I put the family kiss,
And in my soul I swear I never will deny him.
(This day I am jetting the stuff of far more arrogant republics.)
Turn the bed-clothes toward the foot of the bed,
Let the physician and the priest go home.
O despairer, here is my neck,
By God, you shall not go down! hang your whole weight upon me.
Every room of the house do I fill with an arm'd force,
Lovers of me, bafflers of graves.
Not doubt, not decease shall dare to lay finger upon you,
I have embraced you, and henceforth possess you to myself,
And when you rise in the morning you will find what I tell you is so.
And for strong upright men I bring yet more needed help.
Heard it and heard it of several thousand years;
It is middling well as far as it goes--but is that all?
Outbidding at the start the old cautious hucksters,
Taking myself the exact dimensions of Jehovah,
Lithographing Kronos, Zeus his son, and Hercules his grandson,
Buying drafts of Osiris, Isis, Belus, Brahma, Buddha,
In my portfolio placing Manito loose, Allah on a leaf, the crucifix.
With Odin and the hideous-faced Mexitli and every idol and image,
Taking them all for what they are worth and not a cent more,
Admitting they were alive and did the work of their days,
(They bore mites as for unfledg'd birds who have now to rise and fly.
and sing for themselves,)
Accepting the rough deific sketches to fill out better in myself,
bestowing them freely on each man and woman I see,
Discovering as much or more in a framer framing a house,
Putting higher claims for him there with his roll'd-up sleeves.
driving the mallet and chisel,
Not objecting to special revelations, considering a curl of smoke or.
a hair on the back of my hand just as curious as any revelation,
Lads ahold of fire-engines and hook-and-ladder ropes no less to me.
than the gods of the antique wars,
Minding their voices peal through the crash of destruction,
Their brawny limbs passing safe over charr'd laths, their white.
foreheads whole and unhurt out of the flames;
By the mechanic's wife with her babe at her nipple interceding for.
every person born,
Three scythes at harvest whizzing in a row from three lusty angels.
with shirts bagg'd out at their waists,
The snag-tooth'd hostler with red hair redeeming sins past and to come,
Selling all he possesses, traveling on foot to fee lawyers for his.
brother and sit by him while he is tried for forgery;
What was strewn in the amplest strewing the square rod about me, and.
not filling the square rod then,
The bull and the bug never worshipp'd half enough,
Dung and dirt more admirable than was dream'd,
The supernatural of no account, myself waiting my time to be one of.
The day getting ready for me when I shall do as much good as the.
best, and be as prodigious;
By my life-lumps! becoming already a creator,
Putting myself here and now to the ambush'd womb of the shadows.
My own voice, orotund sweeping and final.
Come my boys and girls, my women, household and intimates,
Now the performer launches his nerve, he has pass'd his prelude on.
the reeds within.
climax and close.
Music rolls, but not from the organ,
Folks are around me, but they are no household of mine.
Ever the eaters and drinkers, ever the upward and downward sun, ever.
the air and the ceaseless tides,
Ever myself and my neighbors, refreshing, wicked, real,
Ever the old inexplicable query, ever that thorn'd thumb, that.
breath of itches and thirsts,
Ever the vexer's hoot! hoot! till we find where the sly one hides.
and bring him forth,
Ever love, ever the sobbing liquid of life,
Ever the bandage under the chin, ever the trestles of death.
To feed the greed of the belly the brains liberally spooning,
Tickets buying, taking, selling, but in to the feast never once going,
Many sweating, ploughing, thrashing, and then the chaff for payment.
A few idly owning, and they the wheat continually claiming.
Whatever interests the rest interests me, politics, wars, markets,
The mayor and councils, banks, tariffs, steamships, factories,
stocks, stores, real estate and personal estate.
I am aware who they are, (they are positively not worms or fleas,)
I acknowledge the duplicates of myself, the weakest and shallowest.
is deathless with me,
What I do and say the same waits for them,
Every thought that flounders in me the same flounders in them.
Know my omnivorous lines and must not write any less,
And would fetch you whoever you are flush with myself.
But abruptly to question, to leap beyond yet nearer bring;
This printed and bound book--but the printer and the.
The well-taken photographs--but your wife or friend close and solid.
The black ship mail'd with iron, her mighty guns in her turrets--but.
the pluck of the captain and engineers?
In the houses the dishes and fare and furniture--but the host and.
hostess, and the look out of their eyes?
The sky up there--yet here or next door, or across the way?
The saints and sages in history--but you yourself?
Sermons, creeds, theology--but the fathomless human brain,
And what is reason? and what is love? and what is life?
My faith is the greatest of faiths and the least of faiths,
Enclosing worship ancient and modern and all between ancient and modern,
Believing I shall come again upon the earth after five thousand years,
Waiting responses from oracles, honoring the gods, saluting the sun,
Making a fetich of the first rock or stump, powowing with sticks in.
the circle of obis,
Helping the llama or brahmin as he trims the lamps of the idols,
Dancing yet through the streets in a phallic procession, rapt and.
austere in the woods a gymnosophist,
Drinking mead from the skull-cap, to Shastas and Vedas admirant,
minding the Koran,
Walking the teokallis, spotted with gore from the stone and knife,
beating the serpent-skin drum,
Accepting the Gospels, accepting him that was crucified, knowing.
assuredly that he is divine,
To the mass kneeling or the puritan's prayer rising, or sitting.
patiently in a pew,
Ranting and frothing in my insane crisis, or waiting dead-like till.
my spirit arouses me,
Looking forth on pavement and land, or outside of pavement and land,
Belonging to the winders of the circuit of circuits.
man leaving charges before a journey.
Frivolous, sullen, moping, angry, affected, dishearten'd, atheistical,
I know every one of you, I know the sea of torment, doubt, despair.
How they contort rapid as lightning, with spasms and spouts of blood!
I take my place among you as much as among any,
The past is the push of you, me, all, precisely the same,
And what is yet untried and afterward is for you, me, all, precisely.
But I know it will in its turn prove sufficient, and cannot fail.
single one can it fall.
Nor the young woman who died and was put by his side,
Nor the little child that peep'd in at the door, and then drew back.
and was never seen again,
Nor the old man who has lived without purpose, and feels it with.
bitterness worse than gall,
Nor him in the poor house tubercled by rum and the bad disorder,
Nor the numberless slaughter'd and wreck'd, nor the brutish koboo.
call'd the ordure of humanity,
Nor the sacs merely floating with open mouths for food to slip in,
Nor any thing in the earth, or down in the oldest graves of the earth,
Nor any thing in the myriads of spheres, nor the myriads of myriads.
that inhabit them,
Nor the present, nor the least wisp that is known.
I launch all men and women forward with me into the Unknown.
There are trillions ahead, and trillions ahead of them.
And other births will bring us richness and variety.
That which fills its period and place is equal to any.
I am sorry for you, they are not murderous or jealous upon me,
All has been gentle with me, I keep no account with lamentation,
(What have I to do with lamentation?)
On every step bunches of ages, and larger bunches between the steps,
All below duly travel'd, and still I mount and mount.
Afar down I see the huge first Nothing, I know I was even there,
I waited unseen and always, and slept through the lethargic mist,
And took my time, and took no hurt from the fetid carbon.
Faithful and friendly the arms that have help'd me.
For room to me stars kept aside in their own rings,
They sent influences to look after what was to hold me.
My embryo has never been torpid, nothing could overlay it.
The long slow strata piled to rest it on,
Vast vegetables gave it sustenance,
Monstrous sauroids transported it in their mouths and deposited it.
Now on this spot I stand with my robust soul.
O manhood, balanced, florid and full.
Crowding my lips, thick in the pores of my skin,
Jostling me through streets and public halls, coming naked to me at night,
Crying by day, Ahoy! from the rocks of the river, swinging and.
chirping over my head,
Calling my name from flower-beds, vines, tangled underbrush,
Lighting on every moment of my life,
Bussing my body with soft balsamic busses,
Noiselessly passing handfuls out of their hearts and giving them to be mine.
after and out of itself,
And the dark hush promulges as much as any.
And all I see multiplied as high as I can cipher edge but the rim of.
the farther systems.
Outward and outward and forever outward.
He joins with his partners a group of superior circuit,
And greater sets follow, making specks of the greatest inside them.
If I, you, and the worlds, and all beneath or upon their surfaces,
were this moment reduced back to a pallid float, it would.
not avail the long run,
We should surely bring up again where we now stand,
And surely go as much farther, and then farther and farther.
not hazard the span or make it impatient,
They are but parts, any thing is but a part.
Count ever so much, there is limitless time around that.
The Lord will be there and wait till I come on perfect terms,
The great Camerado, the lover true for whom I pine will be there.
never will be measured.
My signs are a rain-proof coat, good shoes, and a staff cut from the woods,
No friend of mine takes his ease in my chair,
I have no chair, no church, no philosophy,
I lead no man to a dinner-table, library, exchange,
But each man and each woman of you I lead upon a knoll,
My left hand hooking you round the waist,
My right hand pointing to landscapes of continents and the public road.
You must travel it for yourself.
Perhaps you have been on it since you were born and did not know,
Perhaps it is everywhere on water and on land.
Wonderful cities and free nations we shall fetch as we go.
And in due time you shall repay the same service to me,
For after we start we never lie by again.
And I said to my spirit When we become the enfolders of those orbs,
and the pleasure and knowledge of every thing in them, shall we.
be fill'd and satisfied then?
And my spirit said No, we but level that lift to pass and continue beyond.
I answer that I cannot answer, you must find out for yourself.
Here are biscuits to eat and here is milk to drink,
But as soon as you sleep and renew yourself in sweet clothes, I kiss you.
with a good-by kiss and open the gate for your egress hence.
Now I wash the gum from your eyes,
You must habit yourself to the dazzle of the light and of every.
moment of your life.
Now I will you to be a bold swimmer,
To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout,
and laughingly dash with your hair.
He that by me spreads a wider breast than my own proves the width of my own,
He most honors my style who learns under it to destroy the teacher.
but in his own right,
Wicked rather than virtuous out of conformity or fear,
Fond of his sweetheart, relishing well his steak,
Unrequited love or a slight cutting him worse than sharp steel cuts,
First-rate to ride, to fight, to hit the bull's eye, to sail a.
skiff, to sing a song or play on the banjo,
Preferring scars and the beard and faces pitted with small-pox over.
And those well-tann'd to those that keep out of the sun.
I follow you whoever you are from the present hour,
My words itch at your ears till you understand them.
I wait for a boat,
(It is you talking just as much as myself, I act as the tongue of you,
Tied in your mouth, in mine it begins to be loosen'd.)
And I swear I will never translate myself at all, only to him or her.
who privately stays with me in the open air.
The nearest gnat is an explanation, and a drop or motion of waves key,
The maul, the oar, the hand-saw, second my words.
But roughs and little children better than they.
The woodman that takes his axe and jug with him shall take me with.
The farm-boy ploughing in the field feels good at the sound of my voice,
In vessels that sail my words sail, I go with fishermen and seamen.
On the night ere the pending battle many seek me, and I do not fail them,
On that solemn night (it may be their last) those that know me seek me.
My face rubs to the hunter's face when he lies down alone in his blanket,
The driver thinking of me does not mind the jolt of his wagon,
The young mother and old mother comprehend me,
The girl and the wife rest the needle a moment and forget where they are,
They and all would resume what I have told them.
And I have said that the body is not more than the soul,
And nothing, not God, is greater to one than one's self is,
And whoever walks a furlong without sympathy walks to his own.
funeral drest in his shroud,
And I or you pocketless of a dime may purchase the pick of the earth,
And to glance with an eye or show a bean in its pod confounds the.
learning of all times,
And there is no trade or employment but the young man following it.
may become a hero,
And there is no object so soft but it makes a hub for the wheel'd universe,
And I say to any man or woman, Let your soul stand cool and composed.
before a million universes.
For I who am curious about each am not curious about God,
(No array of terms can say how much I am at peace about God and.
Nor do I understand who there can be more wonderful than myself.
I see something of God each hour of the twenty-four, and each moment then,
In the faces of men and women I see God, and in my own face in the glass,
I find letters from God dropt in the street, and every one is sign'd.
And I leave them where they are, for I know that wheresoe'er I go,
Others will punctually come for ever and ever.
try to alarm me.
I see the elder-hand pressing receiving supporting,
I recline by the sills of the exquisite flexible doors,
And mark the outlet, and mark the relief and escape.
I smell the white roses sweet-scented and growing,
I reach to the leafy lips, I reach to the polish'd breasts of melons.
(No doubt I have died myself ten thousand times before.)
O suns--O grass of graves--O perpetual transfers and promotions,
If you do not say any thing how can I say any thing?
Of the moon that descends the steeps of the soughing twilight,
Toss, sparkles of day and dusk--toss on the black stems that decay.
Toss to the moaning gibberish of the dry limbs.
I perceive that the ghastly glimmer is noonday sunbeams reflected,
And debouch to the steady and central from the offspring great or small.
I sleep--I sleep long.
It is not in any dictionary, utterance, symbol.
To it the creation is the friend whose embracing awakes me.
It is not chaos or death--it is form, union, plan--it is eternal.
life--it is Happiness.
And proceed to fill my next fold of the future.
Look in my face while I snuff the sidle of evening,
(Talk honestly, no one else hears you, and I stay only a minute longer.)
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)
Who wishes to walk with me?
and my loitering.
I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.
It flings my likeness after the rest and true as any on the shadow'd wilds,
It coaxes me to the vapor and the dusk.
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it in lacy jags.
If you want me again look for me under your boot-soles.
But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,
And filter and fibre your blood.
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.

A Private Event by Ronald K - Skills and Knowledge Sharing.
Yesterday was an eventful session where my assistant started sharing and imparting skills and knowledge to all my fellow traders who are hungry to make $$. It was a lot of people and I didn't expect so many people but here, I thank everyone for coming last evening and I hope you enjoyed the sharing session and brought back something. The profit taking and the steep rise are clues before market crash and please keep that in mind for your future trades. See you all soon again.

In an unrealized loss now.
Negociação FX com Ron K Estratégias - Registro de Estudantes.
Que bênção receber essa mensagem de manhã cedo do meu aluno. Although I teach trading on stocks and indices, I know my methods do work in foreign market and other asset class like Forex.
Dow Jones - vendendo pressão, Spot On.
All The VERY BEST iPhone Apps For 2018: All Killer. Zero Filler.
All the best iPhone apps in one place - what more could you ask for?
Apple’s App Store boasts one of the most extensive collections of apps this side of the sun. Inside you can pretty much find anything – and we mean anything.
Also: if you're interested in becoming an iPhone developer, UDEMY is running an amazing offer right now which, for just £15, will get you access to one of the best iPhone Developer Courses on the planet right now – The Complete iOS 10 Developer Course . Maybe it's time you started making your own apps?
You'll have some competition. But becoming a developer is a VERY bankable skill. You will be in demand – so it's certainly worth a look if you've ever considered building your own apps or learning more about coding.
Right – back to APPS.
In a bid to locate, download and test the best apps for iPhone we’ve been tinkering with applications all year to bring you a list of the best apps currently available. We’ll be adding 10 new applications to this list every month, so check back regularly as there'll always be something new.
To keep things tidy we’ve decided not to include the big apps that every man and his dog knows about –– Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Mail and the like. Instead, we’re focusing on useful applications that might have slipped under your radar. These apps are all designed to be either informative, useful, fun or quirky –– you'll find no dross in here. Just solid gold hits all the way through.
So, without further ado, here's our pick of the best.
Team GB: Winter Olympics (free)
The 2018 PyeongChang Olympics kicks off this week! Use this app to follow all our Team GB athletes as they compete in the greatest sport games of the world. The app features a daily Olympic Games calendar complete with sport-by-sport breakdown of when athletes will be in action–and gives you the time in UK times. It also gives you all the latest access to all the latest news from TeamGB .
PyeongChang 2018 Official App (free)
The official app of the Olympic Game–just in time for the launch of the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics this week! use the app to get the latest news and schedules for PyeongChang 2018; find Olympic results and records for all sports, athletes and Games; track your favourite Olympic sports and athletes; and view highlights of the day’s events.
BBC Sport (free)
And our third sport app this week is the official BBC Sports app. The app features top stories and sections for both UK and global events, an unreal amount of football coverage, and--kind of oddly--a gossip column. The app also features a live tile that shows you the latest sports headlines right on your home screen. And of course, you can catch all of the BBC’s Olympics coverage in this app as well.
KYO Daily Reflection Journal (free)
KYŌ is a personal daily reflection app. The app’s creators say it helps fuel your daily reflection through questions from some of the most inspiring figures in the world. There’s no doubt journaling has mental health benefits, but you need to keep up with it. KYŌ aims to make that as easy as possible with quick journal creation and the ability to add media to your entries.
MyScript Calculator 2 (£2.99)
The sequel to one of the best calculators in the app world, MyScript Calculator 2 allows you to write calculations with your fingers and the app automatically translates your handwriting and gives you the results of your equation. It’s pretty brilliant.
Mirror Emoji Keyboard (free)
This fun keyboard app lets you translate yourself into a cartoon emoji and send those emojis to your friends via any apps that support third-party keyboards. Fun and with lots of customizations, it’s a must for emoji fans.
Weather Line (£3.99)
Weather Line is now the default weather app for my iPhone. The app lets you see the hourly and daily weather forecast for any location in the world. Yeah, that’s not more data than most weather apps get you. But what I love about Weather Line is it’s beautiful yet minimal interface with its nice icons. A big benefit is also Weather Line’s monthly weather view, which shows you the averages of several different weather metrics for any location in the world. Oh, and the iOS widget is one of the best weather widgets ever.
Fly Delta (free)
I normally don’t add airline apps to this list, but I’ll break that this week by saying Delta is probably the best app from any airline out there. Hands down the best feature of the app is the ability to track your baggage–you can see what happens to it after you drop it off at baggage check–including seeing when it was loaded onto your plane, giving you piece of mind that your bags aren’t being sent somewhere else.
SERIST - TV Show Tracker (£2.99)
With all the cable channels and streaming services out there there are more shows to watch than ever. This app allows you to keep track of which shows you are watching as well as alerting you to when a new episode is available. It’s the perfect app for television junkies.
AR MeasureKit (free)
This terrific app lets you measure things in the physical world via your iPhone’s camera. It takes advantage of iOS 11’s ARKit to let you set beginning markers through your camera and then draw lines between to objects. IT’ll then give you the distance between them. With this app you can say goodbye to tape measures forever.
Timepage (free)
This app from Moleskine is a departure from their journaling apps. That’s because of its a calendar app that works with existing calendars from iCloud, Google, and Facebook. If you’re looking for a new calendar app, this might just be the one. It's got dead easy event creation tools and a great layout.
Just Press Record (£4.99)
Don’t like iOS’s default Voice Memos app? Give Just Press Record a try. It’s got a brilliant one-tap record feature via 3D touch and it also transcribes the spoken words into editable text, which makes working with your recordings 100 times more useful.
Elk Travel Currency Converter (free)
If you’re traveling this holiday season be sure to download this app before you go. It’s got a terrific interface that makes converting currencies a snap. One really cool feature is its ability to automatically detect the current currency you’ll be spending in based on your location.
Ski Tracks (£0.99)
If you’re a skier you know sky season is almost upon us. This great app serves as your ski companion by recording a swatch of metrics about your runs from speed to distance to altitude. It’s a must have for winter sports enthusiasts.
ArtCard by BeCasso (free)
ArtCard is a great app to get you in the holiday mood. It turns any photo into a wintery-like picture. You can add falling snow to your pictures, along with other effects, and color them to your liking.
The School of Life (free)
The School of Life is a free app that allows you to view the organization's articles and videos easily on your iPhone all in one place. If you haven’t checked out their YouTube channel before, it’s well worth it (and the app offers all the videos their YouTube channel does). The app also allows you to communicate with other The School of Life fans.
dARk: Subject One (free)
The Dark: Subject One is a great AR experience for iPhone. I don’t want to ruin the experience, so I’ll just repeat what the description says: “dARk is a short horror story, set in your own home using augmented reality. Tear open the rift, and step inside and into a dark, parallel universe. You are Subject #03; a test subject embarking on a dangerous mission to recover a lost colleague. We want you to explore the unknown world behind the portal entrance, discover clues, and uncover the dark story behind your colleague's disappearance.” Intrigued yet?
Santa Video Call and Tracker (£4.99)
This is a wonderful app for people with kids. You can use the app to customize a video call with Santa. The app allows you to program in variables related to your children including their name, age, DOB, where they live, favorites color, foods, sports, and recent life events. The app then takes this information and presents the kids with a personalized message from Santa.
Glasses by Warby Parker (free)
Usually, an app that helps you buy a pair of specs wouldn’t make it onto this list, but this app is different. That’s because if you have a new iPhone X the app will use the X’s true depth camera to scan your face to measure it and then recommend specs that are designed to perfectly match it. It’s a very cool app that shows off the potential of Apple’s latest device.
Credit Karma (free)
Sadly personal finance or credit literacy isn’t taught to most people in school, which leaves many unprepared for their importance in real life. Credit Karma is a free service that allows anyone to check their credit score at any time and even help them prevent identity theft. It also recommends ways you can save money based on your credit score.
Houseparty (free)
Many mainstream video chatting apps (FaceTime, Skype) have lackluster group video chatting features. That’s where Houseparty comes in. The app is built solely for group video chatting. With a clean interface and excellent bandwidth, Houseparty is one of the best video chatting apps we’ve used.
zombies! ARgh! (£0.99)
Halloween is coming up, so we’re seeing a ton of zombie games coming out. zombies! ARgh! is an AR shoot-em-up that sets the zombie battle on the very floor or table in front of you. Your character also gets to fight the undead hordes with an array of weapons including flamethrowers, laser guns, rocket launchers and grenades. ARgh!
After Credits (free)
Thanks to the Marvel movies, so many films are now adding after credit scenes and ever after-after credit scenes onto the end of films. This app saves you the waiting to see if there’s an after credits scene. Type in the name of the film and the app tells you if there’s a scene and how many of them.
The shortest app description we’ve seen in awhile: “Jump above the line to score, but beware! The higher you get, the harder the landing will be! Don't crash and keep it smooth!” The game sees you controlling a ball as is slide and jumps over dunes. Keep it moving fluidly to keep up your speed and points. But don’t let it get too out of control or you risk losing.
Magicplan (free)
This incredible app uses iOS 11’s ARkit to measure your room using augmented reality. Here’s what the dev says: “The award winning magicplan app lets you create professional floor plans simply by taking pictures. Use magicplan to generate complete job estimates, view your space in 3D, plan DIY projects, or furnish your home. Create floor plans in minutes and edit them with ease. Add objects, photos, annotations, product price lists, tasks, and taxes in a single tap. Purchase your floor plans to get them in PDF, JPG, DXF, PNG, SVG, and CSV formats. Share them with any magicplan user. View them in 3D. Publish them as interactive floor plans on the web – or store them on the MagicPlan Cloud to view and edit them on multiple devices.”
Monster Park - Dino World (£2.99)
Another ARKit app that shows off the gaming potential of the technology. From the app’s description: “Monster Park - Dino World is a new augmented reality game that lets you see and rule incredibly lifelike dinosaurs with your device’s camera. See dinosaurs in real size, bring those huge monsters into your world, walk together and make cool photos and videos.”
Flower (£4.99)
This beautiful game proves that mobile games can be art. The graphics are jaw dropping and art direction is top notch. From the game’s description: “Flower lets you take control of the wind as you explore and navigate beautiful, lush environments using motion controls. Journey through varied landscapes at your own pace, interacting with and changing the environment as you go, and find balance and harmony in your surroundings. This is an interactive escape that takes you on an emotional journey like no other game you've ever experienced.”
Hitlist (free)
Hitlist is a terrific app for those who care about getting the best deals on flights. You tell the app about the trips you want to take and it will notify you when there are good deals on flights that match your criteria. If you love to travel, get this app now.
IKEA Place (free)
With the release of iOS 11, augmented reality is moving into the mainstream. This great app from IKEA allows you to shop their online store and then see how an item you are considering buying actually looks inside your home. Use this app and you’ll see why it–and AR–is the future of shopping.
Orbit - Who's nearby? (free)
Ever crave attention and something to do? Then download Orbit and semi-stalk your friends by easily finding out where they are and if they are available to hang out. You’ll also be able to share your location with them so they can see where you are and then choose to meet up–or avoid you at all costs. Jokes aside, it's a nice app that makes location sharing dead simple.
Google Assistant (free)
Sick of Siri? Then get Google’s personal assistant for your iPhone. There are many things Google’s Assistant is better at–especially if you are integrated into Google’s services. But even if you aren’t, the app is far superior at search (duh) and returning relevant results.
iTranslate Converse (free)
We’ve written about iTranslate’s apps before. This new one allows you to have real-time conversations with someone who speaks another language. The Ui of the app is brilliantly simple: tap and hold a button to talk and your words get translated on screen. When you are done talking, the other use taps a button on the other side of your screen to talk and their words are translated.
Japan Times (free)
If you’re sick of your normal news sources, there’s an excellent English-language newspaper from Japan called the Japan Times. think of it as the NYT’s for Japan. But it’s coverage is global and its content is excellent. This brilliant iPhone app allows you to get all the news they offer on your small screen.
Animated Sushi Stickers (£0.99)
iOS’s Messages app lets you add sticker packs to it that allows you to send stickers, or images, with each message. One of the cutest sticker packs I’ve found is this Animated Sushi Stickers pack. Maybe it’s because I’m a big sushi fan, or maybe it’s because dancing sushi makes me laugh. Either way, it’s a great Messages addition for less than a quid.
Star Wars (free)
The Star Wars is the official app hub for everything Star Wars. But the reason it gets a mention now is that because starting Friday, September 2nd, this app turns into an AR viewer. That’s when Disney launches its latest “Force Friday” promotion that lets you hunt virtual characters from the Star Wars: The Last Jedi movie Pokemon GO-style.
It‘s Cool (£0.99)
I love this app so much, because it’s a weather app I’ve always wanted. The developer’s succinct description says it all: “We created It's Cool after spending countless summer days and nights inside our air-conditioned homes and offices. We felt isolated from the outside world and missed out on some beautiful weather. It’s Cool sends you notifications when the temperature drops so you can open a window or enjoy a walk outside.”
Trips by Lonely Planet (free)
Looks like Lonely Planet is getting into the social network space. This app allows you to upload pictures, videos, and text to your Lonely Planet timeline and share those events of your trips with your friends and fellow travelers. Converse (free)
If you travel to foreign lands a lot, you’re going to want to grab this app. It’s a real-time translation app that is dead easy to use. Hold the button, speak, release the button, and the app translates what you said into text and audio in the other language. The person you are having a conversation with presses and holds the button on their end, speaks, and releases and their words are translated to english. It’s beautifully simply and incredible powerful.
War Wings (free)
If you’re a fan of the movie Dunkirk, or just like fantasizing about the aerial battles of old, you’ll want to check out the free War Wings game. The game puts you in the cockpit of a fully customizable, historically accurate “warbird" plane right in the middle of aerial battles of World War 2. You can play the game solo or compete against others in 4x4 battles online. And of course you can kit out your warbird as you progress through the ranks.
Domino Drop (free)
This great little puzzler game will keep you entertained for hours. Drop the pieces to match their colors and numbers in three unique game modes. It sounds easy enough, right? Well the challenge quickly mounts up as you progress through the game. As well as fun gameplay, the game also features killer musical tracks that immerse you in this fantastic puzzler.
If you’re looking for a new note taking app, I highly suggest Whink. The app has several great features. My favorite is its ability for you to input notes using your finger to handwrite them on screen. The app also lets you import other documents like PDFs and mark them up with just a few taps, then export the marked up PDFs to any other app that needs them. Whink is the best note taking app this year.
Date Calculator (free)
This is a terrific utility app. Have you ever wondered just how many days until a certain date? Or what is the date 28 days before April 23? Date Calculator from timeanddate allows you to quickly calculate the difference between any two dates. It’s a fantastic app that comes in handy more often than you think. The app is free, or you can pay a small in-app purchase to get rid of ads.
Sticky AI (free)
This fun app is great for people who love sending stickers in Messages. That’s because Sticky AI uses artificial intelligence to create stickers from snaps you take of yourself. These selfie stickers can be both static or animated and can be created in different styles, backgrounds, and made in seconds.
Virtua Tennis Challenge (free)
This is the latest SEGA classic to come to iOS. Virtua Tennis Challenge is an excellent retro 3D tennis game that allows you to compete against 50 players in 18 stadiums around the globe. Sure, there are a lot of tennis games out there for iOS, but give this one a try and see how real games were made in the 90s.
Altered Beast (free)
Sega is bringing a host of their Sega classic games to iOS. Thankfully, one of the first one’s is Altered Beast—a game which I wasted days of my life on as a young kid back in the day. The game is so kick ass, I’m going to let the description speak for itself: “Risen from the grave to fight the terrors of Hades – you are the Altered Beast. Morph into killer predators using mystical power orbs, then claw, maul, and hack your way to the depths of hell to rescue Zeus’ daughter, Athena. Combat waves of demons, overcome grotesque boss battles, and tear the armies of the damned limb from limb!” Now go play it!
Sonus Island (free)
If you’ve tried meditation in the past but either fell to sleep or grew tired of it, maybe you just needed to add soothing sounds. That’s where Sonus Island comes in. The app provides all the sounds you would hear on a tropical island from waves crashing on the beach to whales in the ocean. Visit different places on the island for different sounds and be assured that everything will sound lifelike thanks to the 3D audio.
iKana touch (£3.99)
If you’ve ever been to Japan you know that outside of the big cities it’s unlikely you’ll see many signs or other reading materials translated into english. That means the best thing to do if you want to have a truly immersive trip is to learn to read Japanese before you go! Enter iKana touch. The app teaches you the two phonetic scripts called hiragana and katakana using flashcards with stroke animations, example words and spoken sound clips. It’s one of the best language learning apps I’ve tried.
Clarity - Create Perfect Wallpapers (free)
The best way to personalize your smartphone is to give it a custom wallpaper, yet while our pictures may be fantastic, sometimes their use as wallpaper obstructs other elements on our screens—like the clock or status bar. This is often due to the elements not contrasting enough with the picture. Enter Clarity, which allows you to keep your lock screen time/date and home screen icons legible thanks to its blur, mask and gradient filters, which are easy to apply.
TouchNote (free)
TouchNote isn’t the only photos to postcards app out there, but it’s one of the best. The app allows you to quickly turn any digital picture into a physical post card and have it shipped anywhere worldwide including free shipping charges. It’s excellent layout tools make creating postcards a snap.
Monument Valley 2 (£4.99)
The sequel to the mega-hit Monument Valley, this second incursion of this beautiful architectural puzzler features a brand new adventure set amongst dazzling worlds. You play Ro as she teaches her child about the mysteries of the valley, exploring stunning environments and manipulating architecture to guide them on their way.
Pokémon: Magikarp Jump (free)
For those who are looking for something totally different than Pokemon GO, this game is it. It’s about just a single Pokemon this time around too: the Magikarp. As the developers explain, the Magikarp is known “for being pathetically weak, unreliable, and generally useless. It can't learn any powerful moves—all it does is flop around and splash!” So what are you to do with it? The game allows you to raise generations of Magikarp and improve the pond it lives in. Think of it as a virtual pet game for Pokemon Magikarp.
Zombie Gunship Survival (free)
This awesome survival shooter puts you in charge of an AC-130 that you must equip and fly over infested zones to eliminate the zombie hordes that are overrunning the earth. It’s an incredibly addictive game, with excellent graphics and sound effects, and an upgrade system that allows you to equip the most advanced weaponry possible to save humanity.
Badoo (free)
If you’re sick of dating apps like Tinder, give Badoo a try. The app feature over 340 members with a majority of those in the UK and Europe, which makes it great for trying to find new friends or more on the Continent. With a great design, nice profile layouts, and an excellent messaging system, Badoo just may be the app to find the love of your life.
HS Cards (free)
HS Cards is a cloud-based app that allows users to create and manage their digital visiting card. With changing technology and the era of smartphones, it’s difficult to always remember to carry physical business cards with us and manage all the ones we receive. The HS Cards: Digital Visiting Card app aims to change that by creating your digital visiting card in the app itself and then letting you send the digital visiting card anyone anywhere in the world for free by just entering their mobile number. And if the recipient also has the HS Card app, then you will receive their digital visiting card automatically after they receive your digital visiting card.
Hanx Writer (free)
Hey, you know who needs his own app? Tom Hanks. Yeah, no one ever said that, but yet we have Hanx Writer, an app created by one of the best actors of his generation. So just what is Hanx Writer? It’s basically a virtual typewriter app that lets you create documents on digital recreations of classic typewriters. The typewriters have the same keys and layouts as the ones of past days and the app even has authentic sounded effects that play as you hit each key or reset the ribbon on the typewriter. The app isn’t just for novelty’s sake, however, as every document created in it can be printed, emailed, and shared. Hanx Writer also supports bluetooth keyboards. If you miss the sounds of old typewriters, this is the app for you. And if you don’t know what a typewriter is. you’re probably wondering who Tom Hanks is too. Move along.
Finger Spinner (free)
You knew it was only a matter of time before those wacky fidget spinner toys you see everyone playing with every day became digitized. Finger Spinner gamifies the fight spinner by giving you five swipes to make it spin as best you can. Score points for the better spins and customize your fidget spinner as well as compete with your friends for tops scores.
SmartBank (free)
This clever app from Santander account holders lets you interact with your current accounts using Santander’s voice assistant. Think of this as Siri for banking. You can ask the app things like “What’s my balance?” and get an instant answer. Or have the app carry out more complicated commands like “Pay Mark £50 tomorrow.” and it will do it. It’s possibly the future of banking.
Filtru (free)
Filtru is the perfect app for coffee lovers. The app is a coffee timer with a guide for all different types of brewing methods. With step-by-step recipes and an intuitive and beautiful interface, Filtru will make sure you brew the best cup of Joe each time.
HelloChinese (free)
There is little doubt anymore that the biggest economic superpower of the 21st century will soon be China. The country is expanding its political and economic influence all the time and it’s culture is quickly creating more soft power for the country around the world. This app is an easy way to learn Mandarin Chinese—one of the most complex languages to learn for Westerners. But better get started now so you have a leg up in the future economy.
Caffè Nero (free)
Caffè Nero FINALLY has a smartphone app – and it puts every other cafe and coffee house’s apps to shame. The Caffè Nero app is so good because it mimics collecting stamps for each drink perfectly from its physical stamp card counterpart. But the app goes much further, not only integrating the digital stamp card with your smartphone’s wallet app, it also allows you to collect stamps and pay for your entire purchase in just one scan. If you’ve been waiting for a Caffè Nero app for a long time, I can tell you the wait has been worth it.
HOOKED - Chat Stories (free)
Hooked bills itself as the reading app for the Snapchat generation. As someone who loves big physical books, I’m not sure I agree the Snapchat-ization of books is a good thing. That being said, the app is lots of fun. It serves you up short thriller stories via text messages. Some are downright addicting.
Nonstop Chuck Norris (free)
If you’ve never heard about “Chuck Norris Facts” stop reading this and go Google the term right now. Got that done? Good–now you understand how tongue-in-cheek this game is. So go download it now…unless you want Chuck Norris to come after you.
Clips (free)
Apple’s newest stand alone app in years is also the company’s latest foray in trying to have an impact on social media. Slopes: Skiing & Snowboarding GPS Tracker (free)
It’s ski season, and this is one of the best apps for it we’ve seen in awhile. Slopes allows you to track your speed, vertical, distance, lift vs trail time, and more. Best of all the developers know several ski routes don’t generally have the best connectivity, so they designed the app to work without an internet connection. Another nice bonus is the app detects when you are on a run or a lift, so it won’t think you are skiing when you aren’t.

Instapaper is one of the apps I use most frequently. It allows me to save articles for offline reading later and formats them beautifully for distraction-free reading–and now it’s even better because all of its premium features are now free for everyone. The idea behind Instapaper is that many times we don’t have the time to read an interesting article when we see a link to it, but bookmarking it rarely helps because it just gets lost in the hundreds of other bookmarks we have. With Instapaper you can simply click a button in any web browser (Chrome, Safari, IE, etc) and the article will be saved to your Instapaper account and made available for reading across your devices (desktop and mobile). YO-KAI WATCH Wibble Wobble (free)
Yeah, I have trouble pronouncing the name too. But this Japanese import is as fun and addictive as it is cute. You collect, swipe and pop cat heads through this matching game. The game play takes a bit of getting used to at first, but once you do, it’s hard to put down. As the game’s description says: “Once you catch the fever, you’ll feel wibbly wobbly, too!”
Miitomo (free)
Miitomo has the distinction of being the first Nintendo app to ever come to iOS. Sure, it’s not Super Mario Bros, but it’s a start. The app allows users to make a Mii (a virtual avatar) of themselves which will then interact with your friend’s Mii’s via virtual chats and questionings. Nintendo says Mii’s act as social go-betweens. “Your Mii and their Mii characters tell each other about these details, so you and your friends learn fun things about each other that you'd never find out without your Mii characters!” the company says. The app also allows you to fully customize the look of your Mii and win in-game prizes. Hey, it’s a start. At least Nintendo is showing iOS some love—finally.
Muscle Trigger Points (£2.29)
Trigger points are taut bands of seized muscle that send referred pain to other areas of the body. They’ve been heavily researched for years, unfortunately most of the literature is too complex for the layperson. This app hows to change all that. Tap on an area of the body where you feel pain and the app will show you the location of the likely offending trigger point. You can then work out the trigger point with a foam roller or ball against the wall and you’ll soon be feeling better than you have in months.
Super Sharp (£1.49)
Super Sharp is the first of two addictive games I’ve been playing on my tube commute this week. It’s a minimalistic physics puzzler in which you need to swipe at object to cut them in half (or pair them down entirely) in order to get them to fall onto specific marks they are supposed to hit. It’s a deceptively fun game—and entirely addictive.
Stack (free)
Stack is the other addictive game I’ve been playing this week. Stack again takes a minimalist design cue and has very simple gameplay: slabs float on screen, tap the screen to drop a slab in place. But if the next glad isn’t dropped perfectly on the previous one, whatever overlaps the edges will get cut off. See how high you can stack the slabs until there no room left.

The app allows you to find your closest food assembly and place an order. Then over the weekend you go to the assembly, meet the local farmers growing your food, and pick up your order. The fact that it helps you meet and get to know your food growers is a community bonus.
Samosa : Runner Gunner (free)
The premise for this runner is simple, says the game’s description: “Sam is an auto driver who lives happily with his pet chicken. Osa is an evil scientist who wants to conquer the whole world for his own experiments. When they both come face to face, it is going to be one epic showdown.” The game play is fun enough, but what I really love about this runner is the amazing art direction and the fact that you have over 50 different kinds of enemies to fight so the gameplay never feels repetitive.

Lifeline (free)
Lifeline is one of the most engrossing games I’ve played in a long time. That’s amazing too since the game is entirely text based. It harkens back to those wonderful DOS computer games of the 80s where story and words mattered more than graphics. In Lifeline you play a person who started getting texts from a stranded starship passenger who is marooned. How you choose to communicate with that passenger affects the gameplay and plot line. It’s a great mystery and a refreshing respite from the world of graphics-intensive games.
Movesum (free)
Movesum is a unique take on step trackers in that it shows you how many steps you need to take to burn off different kinds of foods—a hamburger for example. Its clean interface and no-nonsense real world information we can relate to will find many who normally see step trackers as boring or tiresome using this app.
Laundry Day - Care Symbol Reader (£0.79)
Laundry Day is probably the most unlikely app I’ve ever come across, but it’s also one of the best from a utilitarian point of view. You use the app to scan the laundry tags in your clothing. It reads the symbols and words on the tag and then tells you how to exactly was that item of clothing. Great for people who are used to having mom there to do your laundry.
Cut the Rope: Magic (£0.79)
The original Cut the Rope is one of my favorite iPhone games of all time. It’s a great physics puzzler that is perfect for killing time on that long commute. I’m happy to say the latest sequel, Cut the Rope: Magic, is even better. The new game sees new abilities added to Om Nom, allowing him to transform into magical forms to help him complete the levels and get all his candy back. The form transformation aspect adds a whole new level of complexity and fun to the game. Plus the graphics are better than ever.
Change4Life Sugar Smart (free)
This is one of my favorite apps for the iPhone. There’s no doubt about it: refined sugar is horrible for you—we all know it. The problem is sugar is hidden so well in so many foods it’s almost impossible to know exactly how much we’re eating. This app, by Public Health England, hopes to make finding out a food’s sugar content easier by allowing you to scan the barcode of a food’s package to see exactly how much sugar is in it. Use this for a day and you’ll be amazed at just how much sugar you’re eating.
Spendee (free)
If your 2016 new year’s resolution is to get your finances in order, give Spendee a download. The app used to cost money but now it’s available for free. Features include the ability to set budget to track your spending, easily editable categories to reflect your preferences, and the ability to work with multiple currencies—great for traveling.
iCal Widget (£1.49)
iCal Widget is a handy app that puts your entire day or week timeline from the iPhone’s Calendar app on your Notification Center widget screen. The week view is particularly handy as you no longer have to open your calendar app to see a week at a glance. Instead, simply activate this widget in Notification Center and you’ll see every event you have coming up for the next five or seven days. Then, just tap on any event in the widget to open it in the Calendar app.
Cortana (free)
Cortana is Microsoft’s personal digital assistant available on Windows phones and PCs – and now it's available on iPhone. This Siri competitor allows you to ask questions about numerous topics to find answers on the web; set location and time reminders; track packages, flights, scores, stocks, and other important info; and it even tells you jokes. While Cortana isn’t as powerful as Siri (due to iOS developer limitations) it is nice for those of you who use iOS devices and Windows PCs as it syncs your Cortana preferences across devices.
UEFA EURO 2016 Official App (free)
The UEFA EURO 2016 takes place in France from June 10 – July 10 next year and this app will help you track all the action from match scores to player stats. Of course, the games don’t begin for a while, but until then the app will bring you the latest news, player info, lineups and more as they become available. It's a must for any UEFA fan.
Time Out (free)
Time Out is a great app that has been around a long time, but we’re mentioning it now because it’s gotten some great updates recently. Now in addition to being able to switch cities in the app and add favorites, the app supports 3D Touch quick actions so you can quickly access those favorites or see what’s right around you. The app has also overhauled its home screen allowing you to tailor it to your interests by selecting what topics are important to you. The new tiled layout is also a major improvement.
LinkedIn (free)
Another long standing app that just got a major makeover is LinkedIn. The app has gotten a completely new, easier to navigate UI with clearly labeled sections for your news feed, profile, messages, and contacts. It also has a much more powerful and relevant search. This is the LinkedIn app users have been wanting for years.
Snowboard Party 2 (£1.49)
I’ve been hoping EA ports SSX 3 – the best snowboarding game ever – to iOS for years. That’s still to happen, but in the meantime I’ve found a new awesome snowboarding game. Snowboard Party 2 improves on the original by adding 150 new levels for your to slide and grind through. You have access to 16 different characters you can design and build up and can even customize the game controls so you can choose a layout that best suites you.
Dojo - Best stuff to do in London (free)
Dojo is a great “things to do in” London app. It’s got a beautiful layout and differs from most tourist apps in that it has an awesome selection of niche events and little known bars and cafes. If you’re in London, you’re sure to find something to do on Dojo. Think of it as kind of like Time Out London without the generic listings.
Buried Town (£0.79)
Buried Town is a fun mostly light graphics and text-based game in which you play a survivor who washes up on an island in a canoe. As you look for other survivors on the mysterious island you soon realize it's overrun by zombies and every minute will be a fight for survival. You’ll need to avoid not only zombies, but disease, gather supplies, build shelters, and work together with other characters to survive. It’s a great little horror title.
CleanSpace (free)
CleanSpace is an app that allows you to see the air quality of the air you are breathing. But not only does it alert you to the air quality around you, it tells you what the air quality will be like on an upcoming journey and can even offer alternative routes with better air quality. CleanSpace also offers physical rewards for making clean travel choices and connects you to the growing community of people also helping to improve the air we breathe.
Boomerang from Instagram (free)
Boomerang is a new app from Instagram that is kind of trying to take on Vine. But instead of recording six-second videos Boomerang takes 10 photos in rapid succession of each other and the plays them back as a very short video. You can then post your short clips to Facebook or Instagram.
Live GIF (£1.49)
Live GIF is a great app if you love the iPhone 6s’ Live Photos feature. What Live GIF does is take those Live Photos and instantly turn them into a GIF you can share online. The app also allows you to save your Live Photos as short videos. You can then share your GIFs or videos via Facebook, iMessage, Twitter, Email, Instagram, and more.
Moonlight Mahjong (£0.79)
Moonlight Mahjong is one of the games I’ve had on my iPhone for years. Seriously, it’s probably been on my iPhone for at least five years now. It’s my go-to time-waster/brain-teaser when I just need a little release. The game is Mahjong Solitaire in beautiful virtual reality 3D. You can pinch, zoom, and rotate around the Mahjong pieces to get a better idea of which pieces you have, where they are, and how to connect them. There’s also a wide variety of modes including scramble, challenge, puzzle, and even relaxation. If you’ve never played Mahjong, this game is a great place to start. It’s also the most beautiful Mahjong game on iOS.
LuckyTrip (free)
LuckyTrip is a really cool app for those that like to travel. It also has a unique premise. Simply enter in how much you have to spend on a trip and LuckyTrip will show you where you can go–whether it’s taking a flight, finding a place to stay, or finding a destination. The app searches SkyScanner for flights and has a database of other destinations built-in. When it matches a place with your budget it will tell you where to head off to.
Pause is a relaxation app based on Tai Chi and mindfulness practice. The app’s creators say “by slowly and continuously moving your fingertip across the screen, PAUSE triggers the body’s ‘rest and digest’ response, quickly helping you regain focus and release stress within minutes” and they say their claims are backed up by EEG studies. When I tried it I did indeed find it relaxing. Besides the cool visuals it’s got a calming audio score which could put you to sleep if you are not careful.
Guardian Soulmates (free)
If you’re tired of the shallowness of Tinder or the confusion of dating apps like Match, you might want to check out Guardian Soulmates. Created by The Guardian newspaper, they’ve just released their first iOS app of their long-running dating site. The app allows you to create a free account, search your matches, and like and message potential dates. Of course, you’ll need to subscribe if you want to send them messages back.
Money Dashboard (free)
Money Dashboard is the UK budgeting app I’ve been waiting for for a while. In the US the king of the budgeting apps is Mint–but that isn’t available in the UK, and now it’s no longer needed. Money Dashboard has been around for a while and their app has always kind of sucked. But they just released a completely redesigned, overhauled version 2.0 and it is amazing. Track your spending across accounts, see your money spend organized on beautiful charts, and set budgets to keep you in control. Money Dashboard is the best budgeting app on the UK App Store.
Seashine (free)
Seashine is one of the most beautiful iOS games I’ve played in a while. You play a small bioluminescent jellyfish that needs to keep consuming things to keep its lights on. Make you way through dark undersea worlds and encounter fascinating creatures and objects along the way. But don’t let your light fade! Or else you might get eaten by a bigger fish.
moo-Q is an app for those that want to take part in scientific research from the comfort of their phone. The app helps you track and measure your mood and then asks you to take numerical puzzle tests, which help the researchers on the other end see how mood affects your cognitive abilities. The tests can be frustrating, but it's really interesting looking at the graphs of your results and see how your brain functions depending on the mood you are in.
iTranslate (free)
We’ve written about iTranslate before. It’s the app that allows you to type or speak phrases you want translated so you can communicate with foreign speakers. The company has just released a new update to the app with an awesome iOS keyboard extension. Now users can use the iTranslate keyboard in any app in iOS to translate in real time. Yes, that’s right: you can write in english and have a text conversation with someone who is writing in German and both your words will be translated in real time.
Knocker (free)
If RightMove had a baby with Tinder it would be Knocker. This property finder app allows you to swipe through property listings until you find one you like. It allows you to search by current location or close to a favourite place and displays results in a Tinder-esque card view. It’s also got a map view so you can see right where the property you want to rent or buy is at.
Two Dots (free)
Two Dots is the follow up to the original hit Dots game. But in the sequel users can now play across 385 beautifully designed levels and unlike in the first game where you aim was to just connect dots, in Two Dots you can sink anchors, make a line, create bombs, extinguish flames, and much more. The game also has some beautiful minimalistic design–and it's free.
Microsoft Translator (free)
Microsoft has been really getting into the translation game. First it previewed some cutting edge real-time translation software for Skype, now it’s released the Translator app for iPhone. With this app you can speak or type your words and phrases in and get them automatically translated into dozens of languages. The app can also speak the translations for you–handy if you’re not sure how to say them. Another really handy feature is the ability to save favorite translations for quick access.
Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon (£3.99)
Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon is the sequel to Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor–one of the best puzzlers ever made. In the game you play a spider spinning webs through a mysterious abandoned mansion. Though your goal is to keep progressing through the levels–doing your spider thing: spinning webs, eating bugs–you’ll notice a story starts to appear about the history of the mansion and its occupants. One really cool feature about this game is that it works in real time and real weather. That means if it's dark and rainy by you, it will be dark and rainy in the game. Trust me, it sounds like an odd game, but it is highly addictive.
Pacifica (free)
Pacifica is an excellent app for anyone struggling with depression or anxiety. Using proven Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, relaxation, and other health techniques, the app allows you to track your moods and other habit metrics and offers exercises to reduce your stress or anxiety when things feels like they are getting a bit out of control.
Race The Sun (£3.99)
Race The Sun is one of the most beautiful racing games I’ve seen on iOS in a long time. In it you pilot a solar craft that gets its energy from the sun. The object of the game is to get as far as you can–evading obstacles–until the sun goes down and you run out of solar energy. It’s makers say the game was “inspired by arcade games of the past with a focus on highscores, short game sessions, and pure fun mingled with a nerve-wracking tension”–and based on the gameplay, no description has ever been more accurate.
Angry Birds 2 (free)
So there’s been this little game series you may have heard about called Angry Birds…Just kidding. Everyone in the world knows Angry Birds–it is literally the most downloaded mobile game of all time. And now Rovio, the company behind the series, is back with its official sequel: Angry Birds 2. This time the game has gotten a slight visual makeover as well as new multi-stage levels. But the biggest difference is perhaps the new ability to select the order in which you launch your birds in. This adds an entire new element to the game as if you choose the order poorly you might not be able to complete the level.
Pennies (£2.29)
If you’ve ever wished there were a minimalist finance app–well, your dreams have just come true. Meet Pennies. The app turns traditional finance tracking apps on their heads by eschewing complicated charts and tags. Pennies focuses on one thing: how much you spend and how much you have left to spend. It allows you to set a financial budget and then quickly enter every penny you spend thanks to its intuitive interface. Since it doesn’t bother you about categorizing or tagging transactions, this is the perfect app for those that just want to know what their money in and money out is at a glance.
GIF for Messenger (free)
Recently Facebook has started allowing third party app developers to make apps that integrate with its Messenger app. GIF for Messenger is perhaps my favorite. It allows you to insert millions of animated gifs into your Facebook messages. And that app makes sorting for that perfect gif easy because it offers categories like reactions, music, trending and more. Plus you can also save gifs right from Safari and store them in GIF for Messenger for later use.
Spendlytics (free)
Spendlytics is an amazing app that Santander released on the day Apple rolled out Apple Pay in the UK. The app allows Santander customers to get an overview of their spending habits, breaking down transactions into types and sortable by week, month, or year. That app is one of the best spend tracking apps available to UK iPhone users (since Mint isn’t supported in the UK). However, you do need to be a Santander customer to use it. As good as the app is, it could use some improvements, including Touch ID login and the ability to see spending in all categories and not just the ones Santander defines.
Layout from Instagram (free)
Layout from Instagram is a companion app made by Instagram that allows you to do a little more with your photos than the regular Instagram app does. You can “re-mix” up to nine of your snaps into cool layouts, add effects, and then upload those combined shots to your Instagram feed. It’s a cool app that will give hardcore Instagramers a little more stylish control over the number and layouts of the photos they publish.
Pixelmator (£3.99)
For graphic design aficionados, the app of the week that will excite them is Pixelmator. Pixelmator has long been considered the best desktop graphics editor on the Mac outside of Photoshop. Last year Pixelmator brought their app to the iPad and now the team behind it has brought the editing app to the iPhone. Besides numerous effects and retouching tools, the app allows you to work with layers and selections--making it a productivity tool along the lines of its desktop counterpart. And at only £3.99 its a tool that does a lot for very little cost.
Dark Sky (£2.99)
Dark Sky is one of the coolest weather apps I’ve ever seen. That’s because it uses your GPS location to give you hyper-accurate forecasts for the next hour out. It can tell you exactly when it will begin to rain or snow, offering minute-by-minute forecasts so you know if you have enough time to walk the dog or get that jog in before it starts pouring. The app also offers weekly forecasts and features beautiful animations and a Notification Center widget.
Threes! Free (free)
Threes! is the addictive numbers puzzler that has taken the mobile world by storm. In it you mesh numbers together to match them. Once matched, those numbers double. Your goal is to match as many numbers on the board before it fills up. The game has traditionally cost money but now the publisher has released this free ad supported version. Give it a download and I can guarantee you you’ll realize you’ve never played a better time waster. And the little voices the number blocks talk in are just a huge bonus (you’ll see what I mean).
Santander Cycles (free)
If you’re a Londoner, this is one app you’re going to need to download. Santander Cycles allows you to hire cycles from the city’s bike-sharing scheme right from your mobile phone. It takes the place of the old Barclay’s Cycle Hire app. Using the app you can get a hire code sent right to your iPhone, which allows you to completely bypass the docking station terminal. The app also has maps that show you where the closest docking stations are and allow you to plan your route. This app is also officially licensed by Transport for London, so you know it’s accurate.
Eurovision Song Contest (free)
Bloody hell, Eurovision, right? I mean what can you say about the singing contest that is more kitsch than substance. Yet still it’s a popular event that has lasted for decades–and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere any time soon. With the official Eurovision Song Contest app you can get a complete overview of the contest so far including scores, contestant bios, and more. You can also view photos, videos, and even buy the songs in the music shop portion of the app.
GLP - Great Little Place (free)
There are a ton of travel apps on the App Store–some excellent, most not. What I love about GLP is the premise behind it: it’s like Tinder for travel, but only little-known places are shown. Swipe through profiles of restaurants, bars, pubs and coffee shops that are off the beaten path. Profile are submitted by local users, which means you’ll probably swipe upon a hidden gem most tourists don’t know about. If you’re planning trips this summer, download GLP now.
The FIFA Weekly (free)
How doesn’t like football? That’s right: no one. But major footy fans will probably be especially keen to download this new iPhone-only FIFA Weekly app. The app is a digital magazine featuring the latest news, interviews, and scores from the world of FIFA. Each Friday around noon the latest issue will download to the app automatically, so you can always to be sure you have enough football information for the weekend ahead.
Keyboard Sound (free)
You know that tick-tack sound of the iPhone keyboard? It’s annoying right? That’s why most people shut it off. But then there’s this app, which lets you customize the sounds your iPhone keyboard keys make when you tap them. I’m not saying any of these sounds are less annoying, but it’s a cool app for people who want to give their iPhone a unique personality.
DayCost Free (free)
There’s a lot of personal finance managers for the iPhone out there, but the reason I like DayCost so much is because it makes entering transactions as fast as possible–just in three steps. That’s thanks to its iOS widget. Pull down the Notification Center, enter the amount of your transaction and enter the category and you're done. The app automatically generates easy to understand graphs so you can see where all your dough is going.
This app is simple but brilliant. Dialr allows you to put quick links to your favorite contacts in Notification Center. Just swipe down from any screen to access Notification Center, tap on their name and the iPhone's dialer will automatically launch and call them. It's a killer feature that really shortens the time it takes to call your contacts if you're a frequent caller. Brilliant.
Organizer (free)
The horrible thing about Apple's new Photos app for Mac is that you can no longer adjust the location metadata in your photos like you could in iPhoto. This iOS app helps fix that. With it you can manipulate the location and time & date metadata of any photo on your iPhone. Change it there and then import your pictures back to Photos on your Mac–or simply use iCloud Photo Library–and now you've got that sorely missing location-editing feature back.
Betfair Predicts (free)
The General Election is less than a month away and if you're a political junkie you're going to want this app. It takes information from Betfair's exchange markets and combines it with latest political polling to show you the likely outcome of the election. Betfair boasts that they've called the last six world elections correctly and well ahead of time. Will their app be right this time? Download it now to find out next month.
Google Calendar (free)
Finally Google has brought its Calendar app to the iPhone. The official Google Calendar app features a sleek Modern interface with day, week, and month views. A unique view is “Schedule”, which allows you to see all your immediate events along with photos and maps to the place you’re going to. As can be expected, Google Calendar also automatically adds any flights, hotel bookings, concerts, restaurant reservations, and more from your Gmail inbox. It also works with iCloud and Exchange calendars so you can use one app to track all your events no matter which calendar server that event is on.
SubscriptMe (free)
SubscriptMe is a brilliant free app that helps you manage all your paid subscriptions, like Netflix, Pandora, Dropbox, and more. Once you install the app on your iPhone SubscriptMe will look for any apps which might have paid subscriptions and present its findings to you. Swipe right to confirm you subscribe to that service and then enter your cost details. SubscriptMe will then give you a total spending breakdown of how much that subscription will cost you per month, per year, and in your lifetime. It’s a great app with a niche focus that could really help you identify if the subscription you are paying for is worth it to you in the long run.
HERE Maps (free)
Nokia has brought its increasingly excellent HERE maps service to the iPhone. The killer feature of HERE is the ability to save maps for offline use. This is incredibly handy when traveling in a foreign country where you might not have data service--or be willing to pay costly roaming charges. HERE also boasts voice-guided turn-by-turn directions and real-time traffic and incident information for more than 40 countries and public transport maps, directions and information for more than 900 cities.
